Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He blends jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mixture. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang and performed piano. She was a student at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style of Atlanta. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choir leader of the stage production. Sunshine rose to prominence in the performances that took place over four days in The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
